- Producing concepts for new products that are innovative, feasible and suitable for manufacturing or production
- Creating sketches, plans, diagrams, and illustrations to communicate design ideas
- Researching the different ways consumers may use a product and determine who might use it
- Selecting, specifying, and recommending materials, production methods and product finishes
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and other designers
- Negotiating design solutions with the management, sales and other staff and clients
- Participate in ALL Ideation Sessions as a design resource
- Stay up to date on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques, attend training sessions and professional development opportunities as needed
- Use a variety of design software and tools to create designs, including Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, and KeyShot.
Non-Essential Responsibilities:
- Completes general administrative tasks such as time tracking and using internal system for task management
- Travel to/from ADAC facilities to assist with delivery of parts, etc.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design Engineering
- 1-3 years of experience (Automotive Industry preferred)
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to discuss, problem solve, and promote innovative ideas that will build strong internal confidence in product development.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must demonstrate effective communication and time management skills when interfacing with various functional groups.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
