Job Summary:
The Industrial Electrician will install, repair and maintain of electrical equipment and parts in the Vest manufacturing plant to keep production and manufacturing equipment running smoothly. They will test existing equipment and determine if components of a system need to be upgraded or replaced. They check switches, motors, regulators and other parts of an industrial electrical system.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Installing, maintaining, testing, evaluating, and repairing various electrical components and systems and motor control circuits
- Troubleshoots electrical components/systems and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts
- Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical equipment and associated conduit and wiring systems using appropriate tools and test equipment
- Performs preventative maintenance on power and control systems
- Working with voltages up to 440v
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC’s
- Working with AC/DC motors and drives
- Performs basic electrical troubleshooting and repair in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Documenting all completed work and the conditions found
- Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Required Skills
- Able to work as a member of a team or independently.
- Able to understand and make decisions based of technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, technical documents, OEM manuals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
- Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions.
- PLC knowledge
- Exhibits effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Visual acuity to read and record numerical data
- Attention to detail, dependability, professionalism and a great work ethic
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality per the posted schedule for this shift
- Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of solid industrial/heavy manufacturing electrical experience.
- Current California General Electrician Certification/license (preferred)
