Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Perform general maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, or electrical installations on site electrical systems including panelboards, circuit breakers, lighting, Power Distribution Units, etc. at the Northrop Grumman facility in San Diego. Regular work schedule is 6:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday (9x80).

Job Duties include:

• Comply with Fluor and customer prescribed and published work rules, policies, procedures, and safety practices.
• Perform general electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations.
• Write shutdown and energization procedures on all electrical systems.
• Work closely with other technicians in the performance of general and specific maintenance on all Electrical Systems
• Estimates time and material costs on electrical projects.
• Assist with Preventative Maintenance and Work Order completion as well as other administrative functions.
• Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department/facility.

Knowledge and Skill requirements:

• Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams, and perform troubleshooting on electrical/ mechanical equipment, controls, and automation
• Must work well with others and also must work well alone
• Knowledge and understanding of NEC/CEC and NFPA70E requirements for electrical work
• Strong computer skills to include but not limited to MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally in English. Bilingual is preferred.

Education/Experience requirements:

• High school graduate or GED or equivalent vocational trade school training is required.
• Five (5) years’ experience in electrical repair, Industrial Maintenance and/or installation industry.
• Holds appropriate license/certification for Electrical Work in San Diego, CA.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA and other codes related to work performed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33.00 - $42.00 per hour
