MBA Engineering and Remote Maintenance Technologies(RMT) share infrastructure and provide a wide range of industrial engineering business solutions to transportation, grain handling, food, and other industries. While we serve a number of industries, our roots are in railroad solutions.
RMT was founded in 2002 to meet railroad maintenance, emergency service, and support needs. MBA Engineering was founded shortly thereafter in 2005 to fulfill railroad engineering and operational needs.
Our mission at MBA/RMT is to use our core competencies to effectively assist local facility operations and maintenance personnel in the task of operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting, such that the facility can reach optimum operating performance.
Remote Maintenance Technologies (RMT) and MBA Engineering is seeking applicants for an Industrial Controls Technician and Electrical Engineer position with the following skills and experience:
- 2 or 4 year electrical technician associates / bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to troubleshoot various electrical and mechanical problems for industrial applications.
- Allen Bradley PLC software and hardware experience including RSView, PLC5, SLC5, Control Logix, Compact Logix, HMI, etc.
- PC experience including MS Office products, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Good communications skills.
- Networking experience a plus (Ethernet, TCP/IP basics).
- Field device experience such as analog and digital field instrumentation, motor control, mechanical equipment associated with process control systems, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot remotely utilizing elementary diagrams, schematics, P&ID's and ladder logic.
- Ability to travel approx. 20-25% throughout the United States.
- Hydraulic process control systems experience a plus.
Job Responsibilities
This person will be responsible for:
- Performing technical customer service and support activities via telephone, e-mail, remote network, written documents, on-site service, and parts distribution.
- Providing equipment installation, preventative maintenance, scheduled services, emergency services, and operation training to the Client.
- Understanding common PLC hardware and software, including manufacturers such as Rockwell International, Siemens, Modicon and GE.
- Maintaining both broad and detailed knowledge of RMT supported product lines including product identification, operation, specifications, maintenance procedures, test & troubleshooting procedures, options and features, and use of the product line for various industry applications.
- Applying product understanding and process knowledge to the development of improved product and increased process performance.
- Completing various administrative tasks, including, but not limited to; initiating service calls, executing part identification and orders, updating/maintaining reference materials, (red line) drawing updates, file maintenance, engineering change requests, completing field service reports and trip reports.
Expect a challenging, fast pace environment with excellent pay and benefits structure. Position will include 40 hours per week in an office environment located in Shoreview, Minnesota with 25-30% field work possible at times. The position also includes the ability to work remotely after training has been completed.
