To provide technical service support of electronic Control Systems used for Mitsubishi and non-OEM gas turbines. The products supported include the engineering workstations, control system CPUs, data highways, and electronic devices [positioners, switches, instruments, etc.] up to the mechanical devices. Control Systems Service Engineers will conduct design development, perform troubleshooting of operational issues, construct as-built documentation, and provide project management for control system modifications and upgrades.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Support root cause analyses and resolution of issues associated with gas turbine operation to determine if control system logic and settings are properly executing and if instrumentation inputs are valid. To accomplish this, a Control Systems Service Engineer will need to interface with Mi, performance and/or design engineers in the Gas Turbine Service Engineering department, and personnel in Mitsubishi Power (M-P), the Remote Monitoring Center [RMC], Program Managers, and Customers.
- Generate design documentation for all M-P gas turbine control system modifications and upgrades. This includes the preparation or revision of drawings [schematics, logic diagrams, wiring & termination, etc], specifications, graphics, test procedures, instrumentation lists, Input/Output lists, control setting documents, and as-built documentation. All design work must be performed in accordance with Engineering Design & Development procedures.
- The primary operating systems utilized in M-P service work include UPV, Netmation, Ovation & WDPF control system upgrades. Control System Service Engineers must be able to interpret existing documentation and be able to design modifications/upgrades for these operating platforms.
- Participate in the service and design of fluid systems modifications and upgrades including the interpretation of P&IDs, system descriptions, component specifications, and other related documents for gas turbine service and develop functional logic to meet the new operational requirements.
- Support sales, marketing, and project management for Mitsubishi and non-Mitsubishi gas turbines by making technical presentations and/or participating in customer meetings, and by preparing cost estimates for project proposals including bill of materials and engineering manpower.
- Participate in industry meetings including insurance and lender meetings, user conferences, and industry conferences (Powergen, ASME Turbo Expo, etc.) including paper or panel presentations as authorized by management.
- Ensure fleet experience and user feedback is incorporated into design reviews, and design meetings, and communicated to the appropriate engineering design personnel.
- Support ISO 9001 audits and compliance efforts.
- Ensure product meets or exceeds internal and external customer requirements.
- Some overnight travel (up to 20%) by land and/or air with some trips lasting two or more weeks.
- Perform other such duties as may be required.

- Education and/or Experience:BS degree inengineering from an accredited college or university; knowledge of electronic Control Systems and logic design used in power plants featuring gas and / or steam turbines. Programming experience with Netmation or Ovation Control Systems would be an added benefit.
- Language Skills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as logic drawings [SAMA, ladder, or other] industry reports and technical journals. Ability to write technical reports and correspondence including customer reports. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills:Ability to perform necessary calculations to satisfy job requirements.
- Reasoning Ability:Ability to make judgment decisions based on specifications or technical requirements.
