Position Summary
This position involves the maintenance and moderate repair of utility equipment and the ability to learn and perform as a skilled technician. This individual must have basic mechanical maintenance experience.
Position Responsibilities
- Minor to moderate repair of utility equipment (boilers, chillers, pumps, compressors, filters, cooling towers, etc.)
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of utility equipment
- Work with the planner to determine parts required for repairs/calibrations, etc.
- Typically 5 x 8 day shift
- Required to help other disciplines (instrumentation, electrical, operations, etc. as priority demands)
- Assisting with various mechanical maintenance duties including predictive maintenance, replacement of filters, gaskets, valve packing, pump alignment, compressors, bearing repacking, and rigging
- Ordering parts and assisting with inventory control and maintenance
- Applying safe work practices and participating in the station's safety tagging and maintaining of records
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good literary and verbal communications (write work report summaries, describe problem and what was done to correct problem)
- Overtime may be required on occasion
- Good understanding of basic troubleshooting skills and root-cause analysis
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
- Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred - Associate's Degree in Technology or an accredited technician program
