As a Senior Scientist, Oncology at MetroBiotech, you will:
- Develop and optimize oncology and immune-oncology assays and implement new technologies to assess the mechanism of action of molecules of therapeutic interest as well as identification of biomarkers
- Lead efforts to characterize multiple cancer cell lines and tissues that express molecular targets of interest
- Contribute to cross-functional investigations of lead molecules in collaboration with cell biologists, pharmacologists and medicinal chemists
- Address and support CRO research projects to establish nonclinical pharmacology and biodistribution properties of lead molecules
- Implement a translational strategy for lead oncology compounds and participate on the preclinical development team
- Interact with clinical oncology collaborators for design of early phase trials of clinical stage molecules
- Write reports, make presentations, and communicate project deliverables for internal and external use
Candidates for this position must have:
- A Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. degree in Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline, and at least five years of relevant job-related experience in studying cancer biology/oncology in academia or an industry setting, including investigations with tumor cell culture and in vivo cancer models
- A strong publication record demonstrating success in independent research is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and current analytical software.
- Skill in analyzing transcriptomic, genomic, and proteomic datasets is a plus.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills required with the ability to work with scientists in other disciplines
- A team player with demonstrated ability to adapt priorities to meet business needs
