Overview of the Position:

The Test Technician will be responsible for testing and evaluating incoming Valve and Actuator assemblies, determining the extent of necessary repairs and ability to repair and complete final testing of Valves and Actuators. The technician will need to be familiar with Hydraulic Testing and troubleshooting valves, actuators and other various components used on the hydraulic systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to measure flows, leakage and force and the ability to measure and plot or record final results also required.
  • Ability to measure clearances using micrometers, micro caters, calipers and any other measuring device needed.
  • Ability to use oscilloscopes, voltmeters, power supplies and various measuring sensors that might be used in the testing of the parts.
  • Ability to follow test procedures as outlined in the CMM or the appropriate internal documents.
  • The technician will need to have the ability to follow instructions, assemble some parts as well as possess good practices for working with O-rings and specialty seals.
  • Qualified candidates will need to have good communications skills as well as a high degree of attention to detail. Good troubleshooting skills also desired.
  • Properly interface with other managers, engineering and supervisors, as well as, all employees at all times.
  • Focus on the situation, issue or behavior not the person.
  • Maintain the self-confidence and self-esteem of others.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with all employees, peers, supervisors and managers at all times.

Education / Experience Requirements:

5 years of related experience or some combination of education and experience is possible depending on experience.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Is frequently required to talk or listen.
  • Works in moderate noise levels.
  • Travel up to 30%.
