Job Description
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our client for a hybrid opportunity in Marlton, NJ AND Conshohocken, PA (must be able/willing to commute to both locations)! As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in improving our accounting procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Complete month- and quarter-end close processes and related responsibilities for the accounting department.
- Apply, enforce, and execute GAAP revenue recognition for each entity.
- Perform analysis to support reserves and other revenue and expense impacting entries.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain account reconciliations consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
- Apply professional skepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyze the appropriateness of underlying accounting principles.
- Clearly articulate results, variances, and demonstrate an understanding of root causes to management.
- Collaborate with business unit partners, accounting leads, and internal/external auditors on accounting matters.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand company offerings and implement accounting models in accordance with accounting principles and company policy.
- Streamline systems and reporting tools to ensure efficient and accurate recording and classification of revenue.
- Participate in systems upgrades and enhancements as necessary.
- Establish controls to ensure revenue forecasts, deferred revenue balances, and revenue accounting execution are compliant with company policy and GAAP.
Qualification/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting; a CPA/MBA highly desirable.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge and application of revenue recognition policies.
- Proven ability to manage complexity and accomplish large-scale goals in a growing company environment.
- Confidence, good judgment, and the ability to work effectively across all levels of management and functions.
- Strong end-to-end process orientation with excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence people indirectly and collaborate with individuals in multi-functional roles.
- Working knowledge of Oracle is a plus.
- Combination of Public and Industry Accounting experience is desired.
- Strong PC, worksheet, and word processing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
