Job description
Our client, a growing manufacturing company located in East Windsor, NJ is seeking a strong Senior Accountant for a one year temporary assignment. This is a hybrid position!
Experience with an integrated ERP system environment, particularly JD Edwards, is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Month End closing/Reporting and Budgeting
Play a vital part in the company's financial management which includes all account reconciliations and reporting
Monthly financial statement close work completed in accordance with closing schedule
Responsible for ensuring monthly financials are submitted in Hyperion for financial review and consolidation
Responsible for reviewing and taking corrective action on any intercompany mismatches monthly
Responsible for fixed asset reporting: Adding, closing, disposing of assets, and running depreciation entries
Preparing US/CAD monthly bank reconciliations and partnering with accounts payable to resolve any bank differences
Preparing monthly recurring journal entries, business re-charges, loan interest and any additional accrual journal entries in JDE
Strong aptitude in performing account variance analysis to budget and forecast.
Filing monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales & use tax for US and Canada and find ways to streamline processes
Assist Controller during the budget cycle
Audit & Internal Controls Compliance
Active participation and contribution in all required audits
Prepare documentation for External Auditors
Support and document accounting policies and procedures to keep up and strengthen inward controls
Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
Others
Supporting plant controllers and performance management team on an ongoing basis
Work on ad-hoc projects as required
Additional Job Description
Bachelor's degree in accounting. CPA or CMA a plus.
5 years or more of general accounting experience including monthly closings. Exposure to cost and/or plant accounting a plus
Excellent communication skills. Ability to work with all levels of management
Must be able to meet deadlines
Determine priorities and follow up in a timely fashion
Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills
Computer literate - Must have knowledge of ERP Systems (JD Edwards or Oracle a plus), HFM or Hyperion, Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
Self starter and able to work with minimal supervision
Able to maintain confidentiality
Team player with skills to adapt in a fast-paced dynamic environment

Location: East Windsor, NJ / Hybrid (3 days in office 2 from home)
