Families First is looking for an individual to join our team as a Family Centered Service Supervisor.
This position will serve the city of Ames in Dallas, Story, & Boone Counties and surrounding areas in Iowa; regular travel is required.
Job Responsibilities
· Assist and participate in Face-to-Face case transition meetings with DHHS staff as needed/requested
· Will make timely case assignments for Family Interaction Services, Family Preservation Services, Non-Agency and Open Agency Solution Based Casework® cases and SafeCare® cases
· Will ensure FSW/FSS/IS and Facilitator caseloads align with contractual expectations
· Will ensure Evidence Based Program (EBP) and Evidence Based Service delivery are implemented with model fidelity, including: SafeCare®, Solution Based Casework® (SBC), Motivational Interviewing® (MI)
· Coordinate and complete trauma informed, and trauma practicing individual supervision with all FSW/FSS/IS/Facilitators, completing and submitting individual supervision forms timely
· Address issues related to self-care and well-being with FSW/FSS/IS/Facilitators to reduce the possible effects of vicarious trauma, secondary traumatic stress, compassion fatigue and burn out
· Monitor FSW/FSS/IS/SFM/YTDM/CSC Facilitators documentation for quality and timeliness
· Complete quality assurance reviews in line with agency policies and procedures
· Attend Solution Focused meetings, Youth Transition Decision Making meetings, Child Safety Conferences and court hearings with FSW/FSS/IS/Facilitators and provide needed feedback to employees
· Build team accountability in a way that meets internal and contractual expectations for communication and documentation timelines, while achieving contractual service deliverables and performance measures
· Will ensure the myriad of documents and service plans align with and support the DHS Case Plan goals
· Will communicate and collaborate with other Program Area Supervisors in regard to family interaction scheduling, coordination and activities
· Have necessary skills to clinically lead SBC case collaboration (Magic Monday) meetings and ensure collaborative case work between the FSW/FSS and IS assigned to the same case
· Have necessary skills to actively participate in multi-disciplinary team staffing process
· Have the willingness and ability to learn the functionalities of TheraManager, run system reports and use system data to drive decision making and service outcomes
· Oversee training and implementation of Families First screening and assessment tools with FSW/FSS/IS
· Provide specialized Family Interaction Training to FSW/FSS to ensure professional supervision provides safety, increase in meaningful child/parent interactions and bonding.
· Have a core understanding for the primary Evidence Based Programs and Evidence Based Services endorsed by Families First, including: SafeCare®, Solution Based Casework® (SBC), Motivational Interviewing® (MI) and Nurturing Parents Program® (NPP)
· Display a willingness to be trained and certified or working towards Evidence Based Program and Evidence Based Service certification, Coach certification and/or Training of Trainers (TOT) certification as requested
· Attend Service Area (SA) specific staffing’s, meetings, and service initiatives with FSW/FSS/IS/Facilitators
· Be accessible to FSS/IS/Facilitators as needed
· Provide coverage for on-call Family Preservation Services one week at a time
· Provide necessary training to employees to assure ongoing progress towards best practice services
· Attend DHS local and statewide meetings and trainings as assigned
· Attend and co-facilitate monthly staff meetings with FSW/FSS/IS/Facilitators and CSE Care Coordinators/Therapists
· Attend and actively participate in internal meetings as assigned
· Attend and actively participate in monthly supervisor meetings as assigned
· Attend and actively participate in quarterly regional meetings as assigned
Qualifications
· Education requirements:
o A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work/Human Services or related field from an accredited college/university and five (5) years full-time experience in Human Services.
o Required licenses, registrations, and certifications: Possession of a valid Driver’s license within the State of Residence.
· Needs to have excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Must be highly organized
· Displays high work ethic
