Job Description
Accomplishes human resource objectives by obtaining, recording, forwarding, and explaining human resource information, including payroll processing. These duties include assisting in the execution of recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training of employees. This position also includes compliance duties as relates to employees subject to FMCSA rules and regulations (i.e. hours of service, etc) and the training therein.
Duties and Responsibilities of a Human Resource Associate
Provides information by answering communications; referring special communications to the appropriate person.
Obtains and orients temporary help by forwarding requirements and criteria to temporary services; providing information and directions.
Maintains human resources records by maintaining applications, résumés, and applicant logs.
Verifies candidates' background by contacting references.
Enrolls new employees by issuing forms and applications; verifying completion.
Helps employees by explaining benefit programs.
Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
Maintains manager and employee confidence by keeping human resources information confidential.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Accomplishes human resources and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Work Environment:
This position reports directly to the Controller/Human Resource Officer. This position will also take direction from the Safety/Training Officer. While performing the duties of the Human Resource Associate, the employee is expected to be able to work in a busy office with multiple employees. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Physical Demands:
The employee should be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Qualifications:
Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Must have a clean criminal background
Good written and verbal communication skills
Familiar with employment rules and regulations
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Two years minimum Human Resources experience
Experience in payroll processing
Basic knowledge of office equipment.
Knowledge of Google Business Suite and related applications
Certificates and Licenses:
Associates degree preferred, but not required with experience
Human Resources Certification preferred
