Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Operations Manager in the Atlanta, GA office at Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP. We are searching for someone who wants to be a valued contributor and member of a talented and dynamic team of lawyers, paralegals and business professionals.
The Human Resources Operations Manager manages the Human Resources ("HR") Department's firm wide policies, manuals, programs, and job descriptions database. Provides support for HR special projects, manages the timelines and forms for the business professional performance evaluation program. The Human Resources Operations Manager is also responsible for maintaining HR's content and image on the intranet and internet and ensures HR regulatory compliance. Also, assists in recruitment for management level and above openings as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develops, analyzes, maintains, updates and revises all HR policies, manuals (employee handbook), forms and documents; notifies appropriate individuals of changes, as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the design, processes and forms for recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, evaluation, compensation and departure, continually upgrading the processes.
  • Manages and audits the HR's internet and intranet presence, ensuring that all information is up to date and that these presences well represent the firm and the department.
  • Conducts regular department audits on, but not limited to, processes, policies, files, independent contractors, FLSA classifications, and job descriptions. HR contact for all internal and external audits.
  • Designs and develops new and revised job descriptions for all current business professional positions.
  • Ensures Human Resources regulatory compliance in all states in which the firm operates. Keeps current on new and pending legislation and regulations, and takes timely and appropriate action so HR is prepared and compliant when new regulations and legislation become effective including office Federal and State Labor Law posters and background check policies.
  • Monitors HR trends, both overall and specifically in law firms. Recommends and implements approved changes to existing policies and programs for the firm to ensuring that the firm remains competitive with industry trends and ratios.
  • Manages the business professional staff performance evaluation process and system administration through vi-Aderant.
  • Manages selection, review negotiation of agreements and relationships with new vendors/agencies as requested by Director of HR including Background Check, LinkedIn, Labor Law Postings, Performance Management, training vendors (Navex/Kantola) and outside recruiting agencies.
  • Manages international hire visa processing by advising partners, maintaining required documentation and acting as liaison with immigration attorney, attorney recruiting and candidate/employee for information. Prepares documents as needed for government submission.
  • Manages the yearly Compliance Training program for Anti-Harassment and the Ethics Compliance Hotline for the Firm to ensure personnel receive training, answers to questions and that closure to any hotline allegations are handled in a timely manner.
  • Manages workers compensation claims with workers' compensation carrier and follow-up/escalation to the insurance broker, as needed.
  • Manages and communicates the Eversheds Sutherland "Stars" program including dissemination of information, notification of awards and program updates.
  • Creates, revises and communicates independent contractor agreements.
  • Develops and updates firm organizational charts for review by leadership.
  • Partners with and supports all members of the HR team, as assigned.
  • Performs special projects, as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • BA or BS from an accredited college or university is required. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credentials are strongly preferred, as is a graduate degree in a related field.
  • At least fifteen years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources in a highly matrixed, multi-office organization, with at least ten years as a manager. Experience with full cycle project management is preferred. Expertise in HR best practices, metrics, policy development, regulatory compliance and HRMS systems. Law firm or other professional service firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to build consensus, to juggle and successfully implement a myriad of projects with competing deadlines, to be flexible, to shift priorities quickly, and to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated. Tactful and diplomatic. Able to work well independently as well as on a team. Committed to excellence. A passionate change agent. Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills. Outstanding communicator-written and verbal. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, HRIS systems and databases.

This is a hybrid role and will require on-site presence 3 days per week. Salary is commensurate with years of relevant experience & geographic location. The range for this position is $94,400-$157,300.
