Position Profile
The HR Manager is responsible for partnering with leaders and employees in their designated functions to drive business strategy and achieve breakthrough results. The role acts as a trusted business partner to proactively assess and anticipate people related needs, it creates partnerships to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect Lactalis US Yogurt’s business objectives and support our Mission and Values.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Partner with senior leadership and management teams of assigned business units to develop effective management and leadership behaviors to create high functioning, engaged teams. Provide guidance and recommendations related to recruitment and selection, performance management and people development, succession planning, employee relations, disability and leave management, compensation & benefits. 
  • Be a change agent and single point of contact for employees and managers in assigned business units.
  • Develop people strategies and design approaches for diagnosing and enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team for recruitment activities of assigned business units. Focus will be on providing guidance with regards to business needs and assessing candidates, to ensure the organization has the right people, in the right      roles and aligned with the company values. May assist with sourcing, screening, interviewing, and referring applicants to management for further interviews. Conduct exit interviews with departing employees, analyze opportunities and recommend/implement corrective actions.
  • Provide HR expertise in the areas of feedback, employee relations, development and coaching, compensation, and organizational development.
  • Partner with HR leadership and the Talent Development Manager to enhance employee and management performance by identifying training and development needs, offering, and evaluating appropriate training programs, and ensuring effective      utilization of performance management and succession planning programs.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations, and interpreting Company policy for managers and employees.
  • Create a productive work environment by resolving conflicts, coaching management on effective management and coaching techniques and maintaining open communication with employees and managers.
  • Collaborate with the US HR & Shared Services team to champion and accelerate a culture of  excellence in which people feel engaged and inspired to deliver top business results.
  • Perform administrative duties such as processing documentation for employee life cycle events (i.e. new hire, change, termination, etc.), maintaining employee data and records as appropriate (personnel files, training records etc.)
  • Provide timely information and/or education for all levels of the company on HR issues.
  • Understands business KPI’s and analyzes information to help drive solutions. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources administration, Business, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters in an HR functional area is an asset.
  • 5+ years broad based experience as HR Generalist or HR Business Partner, including partnering with employees and leaders to drive business performance.
  • Demonstrated experience in various HR functional areas, especially organization development, change management, and employee relations.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders with the ability to influence, effectively build buy-in, and drive change.
  • Ability to probe for required understanding of business strategy/context in order to properly align solutions or problem-solving approaches.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving, attention to details and decision-making skills. 
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated credibility and integrity in communications to ensure information flows upward and downward.
  • Ability to listen and understand the needs of the employees, together with those of the company.
  • High integrity/will stop at nothing to safeguard compliance standards and company values.  
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to stylistically adapt communication based on audience.
  • Highly proficient with standard office computer technology such as Office 365 or equivalent (Advanced skills in Excel, Word, Power Point). Knowledge of HR Systems such as Success Factors, Paylocity, Alchemy, Kronos, and Cross Knowledge is an asset.
