JOB SUMMARY:
Directly assist the HR Manager and Generalist with a wide range of activities related to talent acquisition, talent development, benefits, payroll, employee life cycle, file integrity, and other administrative duties. Working 20-30 hours weekly, the position will offer the intern the ability to apply classroom learning to a real-world setting in automotive manufacturing. Coordinate and manage many of the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources Department, to assure that the department runs smoothly.
Successful candidates will be approachable, action-oriented, flexible problem solvers with great verbal and written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and update confidential information related to employee records.
- Support the pre-employment process for prospective candidates and the onboarding process for new hires.
- Assist employees on a day-to-day basis with benefit questions and issues.
- Assist with the coordination of training programs and employee professional development.
- Answer routine inquiries from inside and outside the company on employment verifications, employee data change, and job openings.
- Maintain high visibility for all team members.
- Complete other duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate student attending an accredited university with an emphasis in Business, Human Resources, Communications, Organizational Development or similar field of study. Junior or Senior preferred.
- Must be detail and service oriented.
- Ability to plan, manage and complete projects to consistently meet deadlines and deliver high quality and accurate work.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
