Robert Half is working with growing business to find a talented Human Resources Manager. The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing personnel and daily operations of the Human Resources department. This is a direct hire position for a company out of Mentor, Ohio! The hours are standard fulltime business hours and it is an on site role. This position does require light travel to different locations in the area. They are seeking someone with strong tenure in HR roles, management experience, strong communication skills, and a team player. They do require this candidate to have a bachelor's degree.
What you get to do every day
- Grow the organization's Human Resources department by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and Human Resources policies, programs, and practices
- Oversee human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
- Teach employees such that they follow all policies and procedures
- Be familiar with and implement applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conduct investigations, maintain records, and represent the organization at hearings

- Be present at interdepartmental meetings with other managers
- Build management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
- Head up all HR activities, communications, reports, requests and documents created and received by the team
- Organize historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records
- Administer exit interviews and procedures
- Outline recruitment plans, interview schedules and evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies and labor laws
- Investigate compensation standards set by industry and governing bodies in order to create salary structures and administer employee benefits
- Review reports provided by the HR team, team leaders and operations managers to determine employee performance and training needs

- Professional in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
- Deep knowledge of HR policies, benefits administration, compensation and wage structure
- Excellent ethics, integrity, and standards
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or similar field
- Ability to view issues with an objective lens
- Knowledge of HR software and working knowledge of MS Office
- A familiarity with the main ideas of employment law and EEOC regulations
- Adept to problem-solving and conflict resolution
- 5+ years in Human Resources
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- PHR/SPHR or other relevant certifications are desired
