We are looking for an HR Manager / Safety Administrator to oversee all aspects of Human Resources, workers' compensation claims, safety training and maintain OSHA records. Our HR Manager / Safety Administrator is the go-to person for all employee-related issues including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll, benefits and training & development. This position is important to our success. People are our most important asset and this role ensures that we treat them accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Process time cards and payroll and work with corporate to ensure accuracy of process
- Notify corporate HR of personnel and pay changes
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
- Assists in employee counseling and disciplinary actions
- Manage the recruitment and selection process
- Conduct new-hire orientations, relaying company culture, benefits, compensation, policies
- Conduct open enrollment for benefits
- Track attendance and manage absentee issues
- Nurture a positive working environment
- Maintains Seniority list for hourly employees
- Oversee and manage performance appraisal system that drives high performance
- Maintain hourly compensation and benefits programs
- Maintain employee files in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Attend Portage county safety meetings on a monthly basis
- Maintain OSHA logs and other OSHA records
- Coordinate OSHA required audiology testing
- Coordinate safety equipment such as scheduling the shoe truck
- Track vacation allowances
- Plan employee appreciation events, food and gifts
Skills
- Proven working experience as HR manager or HR assistant
- People oriented and results driven with a high sense of urgency
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
- Knowledge of HR systems, databases, workers' compensation and safety
- Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
- Associates degree in Human Resources, Business or other related field or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years' experience in HR and Safety Administration

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
