The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves all of the primary health care needs of families in the heart of North and Central Brooklyn for over 40 years. We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist. The Generalist will be responsible for providing support to the Human Resources Director, and the HR Activities. The Generalist is the go-to person for various employee-related issues and is responsible for the overall Human Resources function and communication with employees. The Generalist will contribute to the overall success and well-being of an organization by fostering a positive work culture, developing employee skills, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Generalist has the ability and willingness to exercise tact, diplomacy, and courtesy when dealing with people.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, the HRM
- Facilitate employee relations issues, perform investigations, and provide recommendations. Manage corrective action and coach/counsel management in executing disciplinary procedures. Analyze situations appropriately and adopt appropriate courses of action.
- Manage recruitment efforts supporting the organization's recruitment strategic goals. Recruit for open positions by actively sourcing and utilizing multiple job boards and niche sites. Complete post-offer/pre-hire applicant processing by completing background checks, license verification and offer letters. Prepared weekly vacancy reports. Oversees the hiring process, which includes job postings, interviews, employee applications, background checks, and new hire orientation.
- Benefits administration, to include maintaining benefits programs, policies and procedures, and benefits reconciliation (in partnership with the Fiscal/Finance Team.)
- Leaves administration including LOA, FMLA, PFL, etc. Tracked leaves of absences.
- Facilitate and track staff trainings activities through the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Use process-oriented thinking to partner with Director to implement HR projects aligned with business goals understand and interpret policies and procedures.
- Oversees creating and maintaining employee files, records, and required documentation.
- Stay up to date on relevant labor and employment laws, changes, and trends, which includes compliance with applicable federal & state laws and regulatory agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree
- Three to five years of experience as a Generalist managing Employees Relations, Benefits and Recruitment.
- Payroll and HRIS experience a plus
- SHRM certification preferred.
