Human Resources Generalist - Recruitment

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the recruitment, screening, new employee orientation/training, retention of all personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; composes and places advertisements.
- Schedules and participates in interviews for direct care staff, and front line supervisors.
- Completes references and employment verifications for new hires.
- Maintains compliance of all personnel files.
- Schedules stay interviews with new employees for up to 90 days, at regular intervals.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Enhance employee relations, communication and retention strategies, and employee related events.
- Assist in the development and implementation of employee training.
- Prepares government reports related to EEO compliance or other HR functions.
- Conduct new employee orientations. Assists employees in completing all required paperwork, goes over the employee handbook and makes sure all screenings are completed for employees, based on program requirements.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Represent the agency at business and community functions and assist with public relations and special events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
POSITIONS QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, public administration, business administration, or a related field and a minimum of three years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
Experience: Computer Experience required; familiarity with Ultimate Kronos Group HRIS System, Microsoft Word, and Excel is helpful
Skills: Excellent communication skills and personal computer experience required
Certifications & Licenses: Valid driver’s license and possess reliable transportation
Other Requirements: Must be able to work flexible hours
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to Stand, Walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward and above shoulders, speak, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend on a daily basis
- Capability to Lift, carry, push or pull up to 25 lbs on a daily basis
