General Description
This position administers daily activities in the HR function including benefits administration, onboarding, payroll, creating and maintaining personnel files and other HR recordkeeping, compliance reporting, and organizing employee corporate and social events.
Principle Responsibilities
- Administer the Company’s benefits program.
- Be the payroll backup for hourly and salary employees.
- Complete and file compliance reporting such as the EEOC-1.
- Organize employee corporate and social events.
- Complete surveys.
- Work with contract agencies to provide temporary workers.
- Administer applicant tracking system; post open positions; screen candidates and set up interviews.
- Perform onboard and offboard activities.
- Track performance review completion in personnel files.
- Administer OSHA compliance; maintain documentation; main point of contact for audits.
- Administer workers’ compensation process; report occupational injuries; coordinate post-accident testing and care; investigate occurrences.
- Create and maintain properly updated personnel and departmental records.
- Be an effective team-player; interact and work cross-functionally with all MDI departments.
- Exemplify a professional work demeanor upholding the Company Core Values.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- All other duties as assigned by Management.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion regarding confidential matters, safeguarding highly confidential information; strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize duties, working with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills; ability to interact with employees of all levels to foster a positive work environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of HR experience preferred.
- SHRM and/or other HR certification preferred.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel.
- Knowledge of Lotus, Mac-Pac and Pay Systems software preferred.
