Plymouth Division Overview
Messerli Kramer’s Plymouth Division is our Consumer Collections and Creditors’ Remedies group that provides comprehensive, debt collection services to our clients, including some of the nation’s largest banks and financial services companies. Our thorough understanding of the law, business and regulatory landscape related to the collections process makes us more than litigators. We are negotiators, investigators, collectors—and above all—partners with our clients. Our attorneys manage a range of tools for a client’s claim, from clients’ claims from demand letter, telephone calls, credit bureau review, litigation, garnishment, skip tracing and asset searches, to post-judgment remedies and collateral recovery.
Job Summary
Are you looking for a role that offers a variety of HR responsibilities in a fast pace environment? We are seeking a strong HR Generalist that has the ability to wear many hats and enjoys managing recruitment for the division. This individual must take initiative to build relationships to become a trusted HR partner at all levels. The HR Generalist must be able to work independently, stay organized, juggle many tasks with a strong attention to detail. The HR Generalist’s primary focus is not limited to but includes the following disciplines: high volume recruiting for hourly positions, onboarding, employee relations, benefit education, leave administration, HRIS (Paylocity), review bi-weekly payroll and time entry, compliance and audit reporting. This individual will report to HR Director with a dotted line to the Division leader in Plymouth.
Responsibilities
Recruitment and Selection
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and build future pipeline
- Create job descriptions and interview questions in partnership with hiring managers
- Create and post requisitions in Paylocity and create advertisements in Paylocity and other online channels
- Source candidates, pre-screen, facilitate the interview process, perform all pre-employment checks, and prepare offer letters
- Manage all onboarding tasks which includes first day paperwork and coordinating new hire orientation
- Send out new hire notifications to appropriate parties
Payroll/Benefits
- Educate and serve as a liaison between employees and supervisors regarding benefit questions
- Review bi-weekly time cards and payroll data which includes bonuses in Paylocity and third party payroll provider
- Administer FMLA and other leaves
Performance Management
- Administer and prepare documentation and reports for annual review process for supervisors/employees/leadership
- Participate in monthly review meetings with leadership
- Enter and process final review documentation in HRIS system with compensation and employee changes
Culture and Engagement
- Provide suggestions for engagement related initiatives
- Participate in division wide committees to promote engagement and recognition
- Help promote a positive work environment to increase morale and improve turnover
- Assist in coordination of firm events including summer picnic, holiday event and misc. gatherings
EmployeeRelations
- Serve as a link between supervisor and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies, and providing guidance
- Coach and consult leadership about employee matters
- Educate and help supervisors on day to day people issues and change related matters
- Facilitate discussions regarding employee issues and/or management issues with goal of resolution
- Conduct exit interviews and provide data to leadership team
Training and Development
- Participate in supervisor training sessions to provide guidance on HR related topics
- Develop supervisor and/or employee training programs or workshops
Compliance & Client Audits
- Partner with HR Director to ensure all employee files and policies meet legal and firm standards
- Provide requested deliverables for client audits on HR employee related data including, proof of pre-employment screening and proof of building access card termination
Qualifications
- Four year degree preferred in business, Human Resources or organizational development
- Three plus years’ experience as HR Generalist and Recruitment required
- Previous experience working in professional services/manufacturing/collections related industry
- Proficient in Applicant Tracking and HRIS Systems (Paylocity experience preferred)
- Must have excellent interpersonal or communications skills
- HR Professional Certification such as SHRM CP/SCP or PHR/HRCI preferred.
- Must be a service oriented individual, with high energy and a positive/friendly demeanor
- Must have strong problem solving skills with the ability to multi-task and shift priorities
- Ability to empathize with others and be an advocate for employees
