Job Summary:
Gerald Metals is searching for a well-rounded, Human Resources Generalist to support the Director of Human Resources with daily functions of the HR department including full cycle recruitment, talent management, performance reviews, leave of absences, reporting, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with full cycle recruiting requirements by adhering to Group’s recruiting process; designs job descriptions, publishes job postings; builds applicant pool; source potential candidates; schedule interviews
- Facilitates the summer internship program
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, leave of absences, performance and talent management, and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources with previous experience managing full cycle recruitment.
- Previous experience in commodities is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems (ADP Workforce Now and/or Trakstar).
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
