We are seeking a detail-orientated and proactive HR Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all HR-related processes are executed efficiently, contributing to a positive work environment.
Recruitment:
- File, update, and post Job Descriptions for all company positions
- Assist with recruitment and interview process: pre-screening candidates and scheduling interviews
- Track status of candidates
- Create, send, and file offer letters
- Conduct and acquire background checks and employee eligibility verification
- Assist with reference checks
- File and maintain requisition forms for all departments
On-boarding:
- Conduct on-boarding process in HRIS system ADP Workforce Now
- Review benefits and assigns benefits selection
- Assign Harassment Prevention Training
- Send and file Notice of Pay Rate form
- Obtain and file I-9 IDs for I-9 e-verification
Compliance:
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance, such as:
- Ensure annual labor posters are posted in venues
- Update employee documents as needed with updated policies, laws and regulations
- Manage and track annual Harassment Prevention Training for all employees
- Maintain OSHA files and forms, and manage annual OSHA reporting
Administration and Employee Support:
- Manage leaves, such as:
- Workers Compensation: Facilitate Workers Comp. claims/Report and manage claims by collaborating and communicating with employees and WC insurance
- Paid Family Leave: Provide employees with claim form, and advise on eligibility, claim process, and information
- Family Medical Leave Act: Maintain form files, track leave, and advise employees on eligibility and information
- Short Term Disability: Provide employees with claim form, and advise on eligibility, claim process, and information
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- File documents into appropriate employee files
- Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Must be fluent in Spanish
- 2-3 years of HR Generalist experience
- Hospitality experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with HR principles including but not limited to wage & hour compliance, claims handling, employee relations, discipline & separation, training, and benefit administration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to quickly learn HRIS and talent management systems
- Experience with and ability to manage a high volume of time-sensitive administrative tasks
- Ability to anticipate next steps and plan ahead
- Ability to face challenges proactively and with a positive attitude
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Location: 2417 3rd Avenue Bronx, New York 10451 (In Office)
Salary: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00/per year
