Sherwood Bedding is a family-owned company established in 1974. We have five manufacturing locations in the United States. Over 4 million Americans are sleeping on a Sherwood Bedding mattress.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist. This individual should possess a proven track record of successfully HR Exprience. The ideal candidate would be operation-friendly and open to support the team with HR compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements.
• Evaluate, create and implement HR policies, programs, and practices.
• Educate regional administrative staff regarding HR policies, internal procedures and regulations.
• Handle employment-related inquiries from employees and counsel employees and supervisors.
• Answer employee questions and concerns regarding policy, procedure and employee handbook interpretations.
• Conduct investigations
• Oversee the maintenance of physical and digital files for employees and their documents.
• Maintain and create job descriptions for all positions.
• Involvement in benefits procurement and enrollment.
• Represent the organization at hearings.
• Work on special projects.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Human Resources Manager Qualifications / Skills:

• Experienced Human Resources Generalist
• Comprehensive understanding of local, state and federal employment laws
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and payroll and Human Resources software
• Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking
• Leadership and coaching skills
• Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related business field or similar work experience
• 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources supervisory position
•  PHR/SPHR certification preferred
