Human Resources Director - Great Opportunity -
The City of Pembroke Pines is seeking a Human Resources Director to oversee all aspects of the Human Resources functions and activities. The City of Pembroke Pines is one of the largest cities in the State of Florida with approximately 180,000 residents and 32 square miles in size.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Manage and oversee all Human Resources functions including hiring, terminations, disciplines, wages, benefit plans, retirement, FLSA, FMLA and ADA compliance, and labor relations
· Human Resources Leadership for the HR Department and the municipality
· Labor Negotiations/Collective Bargaining Agreement administration
· Recruitment
· Employee performance review administration
· Compensation plan administration and revisions as necessary
· Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local Laws
· Training and development
· Worker’s Compensation Administration
· Special Projects
· Organizational Planning and Change Management
Provide HR related guidance to Department Heads
Performance Improvement plans and employee discipline
· Oversee EAP program
· Employee Safety Program
· ADA Compliance Administration
· Budget Preparation and administration
· Policy development, implementation, and administration
· Maintain City job descriptions, pay classifications, position recruitment functions, background checks, new-hire orientations, and pre-employment physicals.
Minimum “Material” Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Personnel Management, Risk Insurance Management, Business or Public Administration or in a related field from an accredited college or university.
Ten (10) years of senior leadership experience in Human Resources (Public Sector experience preferred, but private sector experience will be considered)
Experience working with labor organizations and collective bargaining agreements.
Excellent analytical skills
Fiscal responsibility for a Human Resources Department
Working knowledge of employment regulations, collective bargaining laws, etc.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP helpful
