Group Leader

Great Lakes Forest Products is currently recruiting for a Team Leader. The position will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of a team of employees to meet the production demands of the plant’s manufacturing operations. Requirements of the position are:
Outstanding work experience
6 months to a year experience as a Group Leader
Knowledge of the lumber industry, lumber math, lumber grades and species preferred
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Desired skills and abilities:
Proficiency in the use of English language in reading, writing and speaking
Computer skills and the ability to run a computer kiosk; following the production schedule, work orders, inventory manipulation and accountable to the work for the day.
Problem solving skills, ability to think on your feet to determine production needs.
Strong math skills pertaining to loss and inventory control.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Professional communication skills with all levels within the company
Ability to be mobile in a manufacturing environment
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members
Ability to apply business practice in situations to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work
Team player, supporting the goals and objectives of the company
Performs the following duties in preparing lumber for cutting/production.
Feed lumber into or stack lumber coming out of a saw.
Stacks lumber on carts or rollers.
Examines lumber for defects.
Picking up boards and other materials.
May perform other various tasks essential to the smooth running of the productions lines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
