Camping World & Good Sam is seeking an innovative and high-performing Onboarding Coordinator to join our Talent team. You will be responsible for supporting strategic projects that define the early career experience for all our team members. This role will contribute to our culture of team learning which enhances the performance, growth, and engagement of everyone at Camping World and Good Sam. You will support and execute programs to maximize the velocity with which new team members are integrated into the organization and perform at their very best. Where no program exists, you will partner with cross-functional experts to design and deploy them. You will report to the Senior Manager of Talent Management and Employee Experience and will be hybrid (three days a week) in Chicago, IL or Lincolnshire, IL. At least one day a week will be required in our corporate offices in Lincolnshire, IL.
Responsibilities of the Onboarding Coordinator include:
Day-1 Orientation
- Maintain a schedule of corporate day-1 orientation sessions, for new hires joining our corporate teams virtually or from one of our corporate facilities, that communicate company culture, values, strategy, and policies.
- Coordinate logistics for corporate day-1 orientation including scheduling, room set-up, material preparation, program facilitation, and more.
- Communicate information about the company, onboarding location & agenda, equipment handover, dress code, parking options, perks, and other critical information to get a new hire started.
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners (ex: Benefits, IT, TA, L&D) to ensure compliance with new hire documentation procedures, and that each new hire is equipped with critical tools and information.
- Provide a warm welcome for new corporate hires coming into the office and give an overview and tour of the office layout.
- Facilitate live and virtual day-1 orientation sessions, providing knowledgeable insight into CW|GS history, current state, and future vision.
- Act as point of contact for new corporate hires as they begin their career, answering questions, collecting feedback, and providing guidance as needed.
- Act as SME for our field partners who are running local day-1 orientation by providing train-the-trainer sessions, offering guidance, and answering questions as needed.
Onboarding Programs
- Assist with the development and continuous improvement of all facets of the new team member experience.
- Communicate and encourage onboarding best practices for hiring managers to adhere to (Ex: introduce new hires to key partners, schedule 1:1s).
- Coordinate and drive utilization of existing and new onboarding programs such as new hire welcome kits, the Onboarding Buddy program, and new hire toolkits.
- Measure effectiveness of our onboarding program by informing the development of key performance indicators for our programs, and tracking against these targets.
Onboarding Technology and Communication
- Support the administration and application of reporting trends from employee voice surveys through the first 90 days of a new hire’s experience.
- Influence and support the design and implementation of our New Hire SharePoint page, and the information that can be found there.
- Monitor and inform the utilization of new hire community resources (Yammer/Viva Engage, Teams, Viva Connections, etc.)
- Inform the support resources and communication templates used by field partners to drive onboarding practices in their locations.
- Help to design and run the program assessment tools used to measure onboarding effectiveness, and recommend actionable interventions.
- Provide corporate new hires and hiring managers with Workday guidance around employee profile setup and navigation.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience within HR programming.
- 3+ years supporting programs/projects within the HR or Talent space.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional project teams a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period.
- Capable of lifting and carrying 25 pounds short distances.
- Consistently operates a computer, phone, and other office machinery.
- Willing to spend 5-10% of the time traveling for business.
