HR Compliance Specialist
Wage: $31.25 - $36.00
Position can by hybrid, working a max of two days at home each week, after initial training period. The remaining 3 days will be at our office in Berkeley, CA.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Compliance Specialist will play an integral role in ensuring that our 39+ retail locations are consistently compliant with labor laws. The positions primary role will be to analyze compliance data and then follow up with store managers regarding:
Employee rest and meal breaks
Sexual harassment and discrimination prevention training
Onboarding documentation, especially I-9 completion
Former and current employee feedback
Predictive scheduling
Final paycheck compliance
The Compliance Specialist also will stay current with new labor laws in the seven states in which we have stores, and work with the Communications department on creating and/or updating documentation and training as it relates to these laws.
Remote flexible: must be able to commute to Berkeley office
Qualifications:
2+ years of Human Resources experience. Experience with compliance and auditing a plus.
Excellent written and verbal skills. The Compliance Specialist will be frequently communicating via phone and email with retail store managers and senior management.
Advanced-intermediate++ Excel skills.
Excellent data analysis skills and ability to pull data and reports.
A clear understanding of wage and hour laws.
Experience with an HRIS. Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now a plus.
