Summary
- Duties and responsibilities are broad in scope and require considerable judgment and initiative in resolving unique problems and making recommendations
- Assists in the development, implementation, and administration of a compliance monitoring program including preparation of compliance documentation and reports independently
- Conducts regular audits of people policies and practices, ensures updates are aligned with applicable laws and regulations, published, and communicated to stakeholders
- Serves as a resource in HR compliance to resolve inquiries and provide cross-functional project support as needed
- Proactively researches and monitors changes in HR related laws and regulations to ensure company compliance and to identify areas of opportunity to improve HR policies and practices.
- Updates company handbooks
- Responsible for combining disparate data sets in Excel and independently analyzing data, including the use of pivots, XLOOKUPS, charts, and graphs to drive process improvement and informed decisions
- Maintains integrity of employee records and supports legal requests for documentation and information, investigator reviews, regulatory audits and reporting, insurance purposes, and approved requests for information, in accordance with applicable law
- Develops compliance training materials and collaborates with the Organizational Effectiveness team to provide and track required and recommended training
- Maintains and distributes compliance posters and required notices for all company locations and maintains electronic compliance notices on company SharePoint site and applicant systems
- Ensures government reporting requirements (e.g., AAP, EEO-1, VETS-4212, ACA, 5500s, I-9s, E-Verify, etc.) are filed timely and appropriate tracking is completed
- Partners with HRIS for data reporting and analytics related to AAP, EEO-1, and VETS-4212
- Summarizes and presents AAP goals and action plan to the People & Culture team
- Responsibilities require interaction at all levels within the company and discretion with confidential information.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years’ applicable experience in HR compliance, policy writing, and data analytics
- Knowledge, understanding, and application of federal and state employment laws related to: ERISA, FLMA, FLSA, EEO, ACA, ADA, I-9s, ITAR, etc. required
- Experience executing compliance audits and reporting
- Experience developing HR processes, procedures, and drafting companywide policies
- Experience with Workday or other HRIS systems
- Effective communication skills to easily communicate plans, reports, ideas, and concepts to cross-functional teams and management
- High professional standards and demonstrated ability to influence and build credibility at all levels and establish collaborative working relationships across an organization
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and drive to prioritize, accomplish goals, and meet company objectives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
- Experience in 401(k) administration including annual compliance testing, 5500 audits, and ACA and benefits compliance reporting preferred
- Experience completing Affirmative Action Plans preferred
- PHR/SPHR certification preferred
