Description
Performs moderately skilled technical work supporting the Human Resources Department. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Director of Human Resources.
Essential Functions
Performs intermediate skilled technical work supporting Occupational Health Nurse, administering and coordinating the City's Wellness Program

Manages confidential personnel records according to record retention schedules.
Maintains records on recruiting activities, such as advertising costs, turnover per department and/or division, and other employment related statistics. Provide and present data as needed.
Assists in the maintenance of files and scans confidential personnel records.
Enters a variety of employment data into the Banner/HR system including department payroll; assists with entering open enrollment changes and multiple employee requests in the absence of the Assistant Director of Human Resources.
Completes special projects and events when necessary, such as development of training videos and job fair participation.
Exercises judgment in implementing goals, policies and procedures of the department.
Assists with departmental budget annually.
Administers Prescription Safety Glasses and Eye Glasses and/or Eye Contact Program
Assists Human Resources Specialist with duties as needed.
Files all personnel forms for the department.
Uploads former personnel files into electronic format.
Performs related tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures used in employee health programs; thorough knowledge of applicable federal, state and local privacy laws; ability to understand and interpret a variety of information regarding health care and health care providers; ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats; ability to collect organize and analyze data; ability to prepare clear and concise reports and recommendations; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees, retirees, Officials , and members of the medical community.
Education and Experience
Associates/Technical degree with coursework in medical assisting, Human Resources, or related field and considerable knowledge of office protocols. Minimum 2 years of experience preferred but not required.
Special Requirements
Possession of or ability to acquire Notary Public licensure within six months of employment.
Physical Demands
This work is sedentary and requires little to no exertion of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, frequently sitting, using hands to finger, handle or feel and reaching with hands and arms and occasionally requires standing and repetitive motions; work has no special vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office with typewriters and/or computer printers, light traffic).
