Human Resources and Events Intern - Summer 2024
At Kidwell, our employees are our top priority. This intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of initiatives that directly impact our staff’s engagement. The Human Resources and Events Intern will be exposed to all HR functions, but will primarily focus on event planning, employee communications, benefit coordination, and benefit maintenance. A successful intern will work collaboratively with the HR team to cultivate and implement well-rounded and effectively communicated engagement initiatives.
Target Start Date is May 1st, 2024. However, we are flexible for the right candidate!
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate with Field Foreman and Superintendents to schedule monthly lunch and snack deliveries to job sites.
- Plan quarterly socials and monthly engagement activities that are appealing to all employees. This includes:
- Creating event communication materials that are clear and effective.
- Purchasing and ordering the necessary materials and food for the event.
- Developing an understanding of Kidwell processes and culture to ensure all employees have an equal opportunity to attend and participate in these activities.
- Creating and deploying employee surveys to gauge interest in events.
- Create, post, and track weekly ‘Tool Talks’ for Kidwell field staff.
- Organize monthly staff birthday card delivery.
- Order and manage office staff snacks and drinks.
- Communicate with the Kidwell clothing rep to plan monthly clothing orders for employees.
- Assist the HR generalist with Wellness Challenge management and communications.
- Assist the Recruiting Team by sending out New Hire Swag boxes to all candidates as they are hired.
- Oversee approved time-off requests and ensure that they are entered into timecards timely.
- Other duties as assigned including answering phones, filing, data entry, etc.
Do you have what it takes?
- Must be currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Human Resources, or other similar program.
- Previous internship experience in HR or Event Planning is preferred.
- Must have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a desire to collaborate with the team.
- Ability to work 20 hours/week during school is required.
- Experience with Excel, Outlook, and Word is preferred.
