NEXT's mission is to help entrepreneurs thrive. We're doing that by building the only technology-led, full-stack provider of small business insurance in the industry, taking on the entire value chain and transforming the customer experience.

Simply put, wherever you find small businesses, you'll find NEXT.

Since 2016, we've helped hundreds of thousands of small business customers across the United States get fast, customized and affordable coverage. We're backed by industry leaders in insurance and tech, and we still have room to grow — that's where you come in.

NEXT is looking for a Compensation and Workforce Planning Analyst to join our team. This role is pivotal in steering our organization's workforce strategies, addressing talent supply and demand challenges, and aligning compensation programs with our business goals. You will work collaboratively across various departments, including a close partnership with finance, to manage operational budgets effectively and ensure our compensation initiatives are impactful and results-driven.

What You'll Do:

  • Support the design and implementation of base pay structures, incentive programs, and equity plans, ensuring alignment with the organization's compensation philosophy
  • Participate in the analysis and administration of compensation programs and job architecture to ensure competitiveness and scalability
  • Develope, refine, and maintain global compensation practices
  • Lead benchmarking processes: survey participation, data analysis, and integration of survey findings into compensation structures
  • Review and provide insights on new hire offers and internal mobility proposals, considering market data and internal equity
  • Partner with People Operations to audit and maintain compensation related information within the HRIS system
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, Finance, and HR to develop short- and long-term workforce plans, aligning with the company's operational cycles
  • Use data-driven insights to influence decisions and track the success of workforce initiatives

What We Need:

  • 4+ years of experience in Compensation and Workforce Planning, with progressive experience in Compensation
  • Demonstrated knowledge in general compensation theory and practices, including job analysis, design, evaluation and salary administration, with strong understanding in statistical concepts and analysis used in making compensation decisions and competitor analysis
  • Demonstrable knowledge in Workforce Planning including creating and leveraging the right metrics and methodologies to influence decision making
  • Ability to conceptualize a business problem, define relevant issues, determine a methodology for exploring the problem, define alternatives and develop recommendations
  • Ability to work independently toward project deliverables, manage multiple tasks against tight deadlines, maintain highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

Don't meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that some underrepresented people are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At NEXT, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace, so if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

One of our core values is 'Play as a Team'; this means making sure everyone has an equal chance to participate and make a difference. We win by playing together. Next Insurance is an equal opportunity employer and prioritizes building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
