Continental Tide Defense System is currently looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The HR Generalist provides strategic and hands-on support for the HR function in the areas of recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, immigration, benefits, compensation, and training in a fast-paced, evolving research environment.
The HR Generalist will play a critical role in the day-to-day people-related operations in the local markets and within the HR team. This role will coordinate many of the HR activities but also partner with the rest of the HR team to support the everyday needs of employees. Activities include managing the daily employee lifecycle processes and regularly interacting with employees. You should be able to demonstrate a great degree of empathy, while also being resolution and results driven. You should be a friendly, self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills. An HR Generalist is responsible for creating, updating, and applying all HR policies and company guidelines and making sure they adhere to standards and laws initiated by authorities. Some of their typical duties include:
- Creating a recruitment plan and calendar according to operation.
- Generating official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary slips and warning letters.
- Creating onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations.
- Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits, and attendance records.
- Creating employee engagement plans, getting necessary budget approval, and initiating activities.
- Evaluating employee performance and appraising their pay scale accordingly.
- Taking appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations and addressing employee grievances.
- Maintain employee personnel records.
- Conduct exist interviews/recommend corrective action if necessary.
- Maintain Up to date knowledge of federal/state employment law and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate open enrollment, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
- Assist or process complaints from employees.
- Create/distribute internal communication regarding status changes, benefits, or company policy.
- Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation.
- Monitor employee morale and company culture.
- Collaborate with the Human Resource team to develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations QuickBooks systems.
- Computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and payroll and Human Resources software.
- Experience with outlook/Microsoft/excel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource management or related field.
- 4 years of progressive Human Resource management experience.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
- Training in or experience in federal, state laws, and application or HR policy in a Manufacturing environment.
- A positive employee relation.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
