About this opportunity:
Under the general supervision of the Regional Human Manager and the local Kroc Officers, the HR Generalist I is directly responsible for managing and processing all HR paperwork for The Kroc Center (and other Corps as instructed) and assisting in the execution of local and divisional Human Resources initiatives. He/she will maintain the centralized recruitment process using Ceridian by creating and/or approving job requisitions, screening applicants and/or coordinating interviews with the hiring managers, offering jobs, and closing requisitions. He/she will prepare and review all paperwork necessary to process new hires, salary increases, reclassifications and transfers ensuring compliance with the established Compensation Program. He/she will conduct orientations (new employee and benefits) to ensure sufficient acclimation to the local unit and the Potomac Division in general. The incumbent will process Seasonal employees to include Day camp, summer camp and Kettle Workers. He/she will assist the Regional HR Manager and Senior Kroc Officer in the performance evaluation process to ensure evaluations are conducted timely and thoroughly and Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) are written and executed in a timely manner. He/she may assist the Regional HR Manager and Corps Officers with disciplinary issues and the employee separation process. In collaboration with DHQ and the Regional HR Manager, assist in implementing division wide HR initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- Advertises all vacant positions in accordance with SA policies and procedures to ensure a sufficient and timely applicant pool. Reviews applications using Ceridian.
- Coordinates new employee orientation meetings when required; notifies new employees of meetings.
- Assists the Regional HR Manager or Kroc Officer in communicating various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations to management and employees.
- Maintains the confidentiality of all personnel and payroll records, and the confidentiality of personnel-related correspondence, conversations, or issues residing in the department.
- Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college/university in Business Administration or related field.
- One (1) year experience working in the human resource field with specialized experience in one or more of the following functional areas: recruitment, benefits administration, compensation management, workforce planning/organizational development, employee relations.
- Experience working with HRIS, preferably Ceridian Dayforce.
- Valid Driver’s License
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to type and enter information into a computer. Ability to view/look are computer screens for long periods of time. Ability to manage assigned projects. Ability to travel throughout the assigned region.
