Human Resources Coordinator

We are looking for an in-office salaried full-time HR Coordinator to join our team in New York, NY. This position will assist in the day-to-day operations of existing restaurants and support the development team in new projects. Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of Human Resources administration, acting as the primary contact for HR-related inquiries, including payroll, compliance, benefits, and enrollment.
Manage employee data, ensure accuracy in benefit eligibility, and maintain error-free files.
Administer employee benefits, PFL/FMLA leave, workers' compensation, and NYC Safe & Sick Leave, serving as a liaison between restaurants and corporate HR.
Support recruitment efforts, contribute to employee engagement and retention, and coordinate and track anti-harassment training.
Maintain employment handbooks and manuals and ensure compliance with local and national employment laws.
Manage and streamline onboarding procedures, manage personnel files, and provide administrative support for HR functions, including data updates, exit processes, background checks, and audits.
Manage and streamline onboarding procedures, complete new hire paperwork, and assist in coaching/counseling conversations.
Ensure ACA compliance, handle employee enrollments in health insurance plans, and manage COBRA initiation.
Balance medical insurance invoices for accuracy with the accounting department
Respond to unemployment inquiries, employment verification requests, and review weekly payroll with the accountant for all properties.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in HR Management or related field preferred.
2 to 3 years of HR administration experience with some experience in Hospitality HR required.
Strong understanding of HR principles and regulations.
Understanding of work visas and related regulations.
Excellent problem resolution skills and outstanding listening skills.
Reliable, independent, and able to juggle multiple tasks effectively.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication (in-person, written, over the phone) skills.
Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
