Description: We are hiring a scientist to use hypothesis-driven genome biology to accelerate global improvement goals for historically under-invested regions and crops. This full-time (not fixed term) Staff Scientist position is initially supported through a project on Sorghum bicolor funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The position is offered as a computational biologist in the HudsonAlpha Genome Sequencing Center, but will be physically located in the Crop Adaptation Lab at Colorado State University (www.CropAdaptation.org).
We are looking for a scientist who wants to make a career improving agriculture through genomics.
The ideal candidate will have extensive genome biology experience working with large scale genomics datasets and evolutionary and/or quantitative genetics approaches. A Ph.D. and postdoc in computational biology, plant science, evolutionary biology, or a related field is preferred, but outstanding candidates with other education and experiences will also be considered.
