Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Self-manage multiple projects and mentor/supervise junior field staff.
- Develop and execute project scopes, schedules and budgets.
- Implement and oversee soil, groundwater and air sampling.
- Provide work assignments to support staff upon project awards.
- Client and Subcontractor Management.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Federal, State and local environmental assessment and remediation regulations and requirements.
- Design field sampling programs and manage supply and resource inventory.
- Interpret geological, hydrogeological, and chemical data from contaminated sites and develop solutions for remediation.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- B.S. degree in geology, civil/environmental engineering, environmental science or related field.
- Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) credential. AL Credentials preferred but if not current, must be able to obtain within 6 months.
- Must locate to Birmingham metro area
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office® and Teams
- Excellent task management, written and verbal skills are a must
Technical Requirements:
- Must have UST petroleum experience (minimum 5 years) in any State, Alabama experience a plus
- Must have worked in a State reimbursement program (most of the states have a program)
- Must be able to manage staff and manage multiple ongoing projects
- Must be able to track budgets and deadlines
- Experience with implementing and overseeing soil, groundwater and air sampling
- Excellent leadership and client management skills
- Effective technical writing, strong oral communication, presentation and time management skills.
- Exhibits attention to detail, and able to work under periodic time constraints.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Federal, State and local environmental assessment and remediation regulations and requirements.
- Ability to design field sampling programs, manage multiple subcontractors, as well as, interpret geological, hydrogeological, and chemical data from contaminated sites.
Other miscellaneous qualities:
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.
- Willingness to travel regionally for short periods of time.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines for planning and executing work in a safe manner
- Experience with other Environmental, Investigation and Remediation Projects preferred (i.e. Phase II and Vapor Sampling)
