HSE Coordinator Job Description
Overview
The HSE coordinator is a health and safety professional who performs administrative tasks and ensures that managerial directives and policies are enforced in the organization.
The HSE Coordinator is responsible for acting as the front-line safety professional conducting safety inspections, observations, investigations, safety training, and regulatory compliance for OSHA, DOT, and EPA. This position supports personnel across all divisions of the company.
Responsibilities
· Provide direction and technical expertise to supervisors and managers to help them implement health and safety practices
· Support safe practices daily with a visible presence in all areas.
· Promote environmental health & safety awareness through internal specific training programs
· Conduct or facilitate safety training and education programs to supervisory and field employees through formal training classes, safety meetings, etc.
· Perform regular site visits/audits to maintain federal and OSHA compliance.
· Administer and train our quality and safety manuals as well as manage and audit multiple projects simultaneously
· When there are incidents, near misses, or safety concerns, you conduct thorough investigations and thoroughly document your findings.
· Ability to train, coach, and mentor employees on all applicable health, safety and environmental topics.
· You are conscientious about keeping up-to-date and accurate records and filing reports in a timely manner
· Collaborating with Foreman, Superintendents, Operations Manager, HSE Manager with current and upcoming projects, field findings, issues/concerns, etc.
· Will handle multi-state region, as assigned.
· This position will report directly to the HSE Manager.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Education: Associates Degree in occupational health and Safety or similar from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience (Preferred).
· Minimum 1-years employment experience in a structured safety program position; general contractor or specialty contractor experience in lieu of related education experience.
· Technical knowledge in general industry and construction related OSHA, federal, state, and local regulatory standards, and ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective practices
· Must be an effective communicator, generating professional written material and delivering effective verbal presentations
· Must be able to maintain confidentiality with company and client information
· A valid driver’s license
· Strong organizational skills
· Proficient use of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
· Current certifications or in pursuit of any of the OHSA 10, 30, 510, 500 and/or Safeland
· Oil & Gas experience preferred, but not required

· This is a full-time position, and general work schedule is Monday through Friday, position can regularly require long hours and frequent weekend work, possibility to be on-call after work hours.
