The Carver College of Medicine, University of Iowa Physicians (UIP) is looking for a HR Specialist to be a member of the Physician Recruitment Ambassador Program. The HR Specialist/Ambassador, under the direction of the Program Coordinator (Ambassador Director), provides assistance to and coordination of clinical physician recruitments as designated throughout the Carver College of Medicine (CCOM). This position is eligible for a hybrid work structure within Iowa with the majority of work taking place on the University of Iowa campus.

Duties to include:
Program Development and Administration
Support the Ambassador Director in developing and operationalizing the Physician Recruitment Ambassador program.
Implement tactical activities for physician recruitments as directed.
Collaborate with departments to develop new and enhanced strategies to attract and engage applicants.
Assist Ambassador Director, UIP leaders and clinical departments personnel to coordinate recruitment activities with the search committee, working with candidates, and planning various functions and events to ensure a positive recruitment experience.
Utilize a variety of tools/techniques to drive employer branding and recruitment marketing campaigns, events, and social media.
Develop and manage the shared resource library of recruitment resources across clinical services.
Support collaborative efforts with the CCOM Office of Faculty Affairs and Development (OFAD) and the Clinical Staffing Office (CSO) to assess processes and identify potential solutions to improve efficiencies and reduce process time.
Prepare, authorize payment, and reconcile invoices for services, supplies, and equipment as assigned. Monitor accounts/expenditures; reconcile statements.
Assist with receiving and tracking cash and check deposits.
Metrics and Data Analysis
Build and manage prospect databases.
Create and maintain various databases and spreadsheets to track applicants through each recruitment process.
Develop standard reports to evaluate effectiveness/efficiency of the ambassador program.
Review and analyze reports to provide feedback to the Ambassador Director and the Ambassadors Advisory Board.
Extract data as requested for special projects or initiatives.
Policies, Laws, & Regulations
Assure compliance with all state and federal regulations and laws impacting recruiting and human resources.
Knowledge of University of Iowa and Office of the Provost policies and procedures involving faculty recruitment.
Advising/Communication
Advise department recruitment teams on UI recruitment standards, employment policies and procedures.
Facilitate communication between the Physician Recruitment Ambassador Program, UIP, and department faculty and staff regarding recruitment endeavors/activities.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external constituents (such as search firms) as related to the recruitment process.
Training and Educational Programs
Provide information to department faculty/staff on appropriate interview techniques, legal pitfalls, and behavioral interviewing.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum one year experience in a related human resources or administration capacity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport with a variety of individuals throughout the organization.
- Must be proficient with computer software applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and experience coordinating a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience and ability with providing excellent and timely customer service.
- Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to meet UI Risk Management driving requirements.
- Requires occasional attendance at meetings, functions, or events outside of normal working hours.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience in recruitment of healthcare professionals.
- Working knowledge of state and federal regulations and laws affecting human resources, particularly those related to recruitment.
- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.
- Human Resources profession certification (i.e., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
