Job description

Boise Cascade is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join the Building Materials Distribution Human Resources team. This role will be based out of Boise, Idaho providing support to our Building Materials Distribution headquarters team, Lake Oswego, Oregon procurement office and the Billerica, Massachusetts sales office. This position will partner and work collaboratively with functional leaders across the Building Materials Distribution division and oversee HR practices, processes, and strategies for the headquarters locations.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the recruiting process to include internal/external job postings, candidate sourcing, selection, interviewing, and employment offers.
  • Advise and develop recruitment strategies.
  • Collaborate with leaders to integrate diverse, equitable and inclusive practices into business process/workplaces.
  • Plan and implement training programs.
  • Partner with leaders on performance management, compensation, and succession planning.
  • Conduct workplace investigations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare and monitor Affirmative Action Plans.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and legal requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance through periodic audit partnerships.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves, compensation, and benefits.
  • Supervise daily activities of 1-3 people
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or other relevant discipline, or equivalent work experience in related job function.
  • 3+ years of progressive human resources experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
