Job Description
The HR Generalist is responsible for overseeing human resources activities in the Triangle region, including five branches in the Raleigh area and supporting back-office roles in Corporate Office in Durham, NC., this role will also serve as the go-to reference for employee relations and labor laws within the organization.
Duties:
HR Generalist:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to facilitate the recruitment process for back-office and Front office positions.
- Conduct interviews, assess candidates, and ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
- Identify training needs and coordinate with the training department to implement programs that enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Support career development initiatives for employees within the region.
- Assist in the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
- Provide guidance to supervisors and employees on performance-related matters.
- Address employee inquiries related to benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks and ensure compliance with benefit policies.
- Maintain and analyze HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports for management, highlighting key HR trends and insights within the Triangle region.
Employee Relations and Labor Law Expertise:
- Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all employee relations matters across the organization.
- Interpret and apply labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
- Provide guidance to management on complex employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and workplace investigations.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with current labor laws and industry best practices.
- Implement and communicate policies effectively across the organization.
- Stay informed about changes in legislation and proactively update policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Facilitate the resolution of workplace disputes, working closely with management and legal counsel when necessary.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel to build strong cases and defend the organization's interests.
- Act as an advocate for employees, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular workshops to enhance understanding and application of labor law principles.
Required Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of specialized experience.
- Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in the financial industry.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
