WHAT YOU'LL DO
As an HR Coordinator/Talent Acquisition Specialist you will develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of the recruitment process under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources. In this role, you will work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop proactive and innovative recruitment / sourcing strategies to leverage diverse high caliber candidates, build robust pipelines, and drive the hiring process in a fast-paced and growing environment.
Additionally, you'll manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and employee referral process, create effective job postings, screen candidates, conduct background checks, and maintain recruitment metrics and reports. Finally, you will be crossed-trained on operational post-hire employee functions to allow for adequate coverage in both areas when necessary.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
The ideal candidate will be a self-driven and motivated HR professional tasked with sourcing, recruiting, and managing candidates for our rapidly growing non-profit agency. Note that this is an onsite position.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of Human Resources experience with 2+ years of recruitment-focused activity preferred.
- Familiarity with the OMH and DOH background check process is a plus!
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools.
- Knowledgeable of employment law and regulations
- Social media knowledge and utilization in recruitment.
- Ability to apply HR principles with an aptitude in developing, maintaining, and improving processes to achieve greater efficiencies and performance.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple processes.
- Attention to detail and ability to provide timely follow through with applicants and hiring managers.
- Flexible and collaborative team player with outstanding interpersonal skills;
- Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and HRIS systems. Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now a plus.

The starting pay for this position is between $22 - $29 (mid-range) per hour dependent on experience and skills. This position offers great benefits including 4+ weeks accrued Paid Time Off (PTO), plus 13 paid holidays (15 in 2024!), excellent health insurance options (IHA), 401k and much more. We also have a reduced full-time work week of 35 hours and an early close on Fridays!
This position requires a reliable vehicle, a clean NYS driver's license and required liability insurance levels of 100/300K.
