Delaware North Sportservice is hiring an HR Generalist to join our team at Petco Park in San Diego, California. As an HR Generalist, in partnership with the Human Resources team, you will provide full-spectrum human resources support to Petco Park. The HR Generalist role will primarily focus on fostering positive Labor and Employee Relations among teams, monitoring trends, and proposing constructive solutions.

- Assist with recruiting for all part-time and full-time hourly positions, including job description development and new hire tracking.
- Assist with the administrative functions of new hire and return to work onboarding, new hire orientation, and training; administer training attendance tracking and enter new hires in the HRIS.
- Navigate employee and labor relations matters thoroughly and timely by applicable laws and contract requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation to enable the assessments of trends.
- Assist the HR team with benefits and coordinate new hire paperwork for the unions and all newly hired associates.
- Recommend programs to enhance employee retention and engagement.
- Administer the new hire onboarding program from start to finish. Coordinate with managers and administer new hire checklists. Recommend programs to enhance employee recruitment and retention.
- Assist with providing direction and guidance to managers and associates on human resource issues including recruitment, employee relations, corrective counseling, policy interpretation, legal compliance, compensation, and benefits programs.
- Perform routine administrative functions including answering phones, facilitating communications, file management, I-9 administration.
- Process Workers' compensation, LOA, and Employee relations.
- Perform other HR administration duties as needed.
- High school degree or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Minimum two (2) to four (4) years of Human Resources experience required.
- Experience with employee relations and investigations is strongly preferred.
- Experience and knowledge or working in a union environment is required.
- Must have an understanding of California labor laws.
- Must have strong verbal, written, organizational, detail orientation, and multi-task skills.
- Ability to work well with others and work a flexible schedule; evenings and weekends are required.
- Training experience is preferred.
- Must be able to work most Padres MLB baseball games.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
- Ability to sit, use hands and fingers, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Ability to walk for extended amounts of periods. (20% off time)
