Job Description
This person will play a key role in defining and running our key processes and programs around onboarding & integrating new employees and ensuring that the company is a highly engaging place to work at. The HR operations specialist is a full spectrum HR generalist that has dedicated focus on key operational areas but also has the freedom and encouragement to play a role in many other people initiatives.
Some key areas of responsibility include, but are most certainly not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Manage the HRIS System Managing and documenting all personnel changes in system.
- Assisting employees with HRIS (login’s, password reset, training).
- Set up new positions, earning codes, deductions.
- Manage benefit profiles within HRIS.
- Run ad hoc reports.
- Maintains and updates employment records in the HRIS regarding salary changes, promotions, terminations, and all other applicable changes internally
- Supervise and track Employee’s PTO/ State sick hours
- Support Managers and Employees with use of timekeeping system and PTO Management

- Coordinate with benefit providers/brokers to ensure smooth and efficient administration and enrollment.
- Researches, resolve, and respond to employee benefit inquiries and issues, leave administration, HRIS questions and employment verifications.
- Facilitate full cycle Open Enrollment process including plan renewals, design and delivery of communication materials and strategy
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability, FMLA and Workers’ Comp, Paid Family Leave
- Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave, accommodation law, and state and local laws.
- Communicates with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules.
- Ensures compliance with annual reporting requirements like EEO-1 reporting, OSHA, etc.
- Manage Form 5500 filings and all related benefit plan audits
Payroll:
· Process (non-exempt and exempt) payroll for employees accurately and on time
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulation.
· Stays abreast with laws regarding changes in pay, taxes etc.
· Calculate and process payroll deductions, such as taxes, benefits, and garnishment
· Responsible for year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing
· Generate reports and analyze data to inform data-driven decisions.
HR Generalist Responsibilities:
- Responds to initial employee relations and performance management matters from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
· Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
· Suggest and implement changes to company policies in keeping with our people-first mentality.
- Collaborate with HR team to refine operations processes.
- Successfully collaborate to build and maintain relationships with various departments and team members.
· Collaborate and complete HR projects as needed.
· Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Driven, self-starter with 4+ years of direct HR experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience running payroll
- Experience in implementing, managing and working within HRIS platform.
- Experience administering benefits.
- Self-directed. You love teaching yourself new things and have an active interest in startups and technologies.
- Highly detailed oriented and thorough
- Knowledge of employment law/compliance and state/federal regulations
- Customer focused and interpersonally savvy.
- Demonstrated professional level of flexibility, creativity, and adaptability to ever changing situations.
- Able to take initiative, problem solve, and provide prompt and professional customer service to employees.
