Job Description
Responsible for consulting with and advising organizational leaders and Team Members on TM relations and other related issues within an assigned client group or groups. Assesses and anticipates Team Member, Team Leader, and related organizational needs and works across TMS departments to develop and deliver integrated solutions. Works with leadership to adapt and apply TMS initiatives and programs in a manner that supports local business needs. Serves as the client face of TMS, acting as an interface and liaison with other TMS groups (including Recruiting, Team Member / Team Leader Development, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS) as well as the Legal organization. Ensures compliance with corporate policies, government regulations and statutory requirements.
Total Base Pay Range
The wage range for this position is $57,557.00 - $96,696.00 USD Annual, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits". Position Summary
Responsible for investigating Team Member complaints or allegations. Conduct a prompt, thorough, and fair investigation comprising background research, investigative interviews, and de-brief meetings in partnership with TMS Business Partners, Operations, Legal, Asset Protection and additional stakeholders under the guidance of more experienced TMR Investigators. The role is expected to work effectively across geographical and cultural boundaries with an ability to discern systemic issues revealed during the investigative process. This requires a high degree of empathy balanced against an ability to provide direct feedback, handle sensitive and confidential information, and navigate through difficult and uncomfortable situations. Ability to articulate issues to the business in the form of findings and conclusions, so that solutions can be developed and applied. Additionally, this role will work as part of a team to develop and deliver analysis of investigation findings and results, deliver training, build databases to share procedures, policies and best practices and other projects as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Investigate sensitive team member relation issues, including proposing remedial action based on investigation findings
  • Partner and consult with TMS, Employment Law, and the business to conduct a prompt, thorough, and fair investigation
  • Lead investigations end-to-end, including complaint intake, background research, investigative interviews, and debrief meetings with leadership under mentorship and advisement from experienced TMR Investigators
  • Utilize excellent written and oral communication skills to deliver and draft accurate, timely, and effective Investigation Summary Reports
  • Monthly analysis of case data, prepare reports, presentations and provide insights
  • Build and maintain shared central repository storage of investigation policies, procedures, and tools
  • Assist with case management system enhancements and implementation
  • Assist with coordination and delivery of training
  • Other projects as assigned

Skills/Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • 4-year degree and 5+ years of experience handling internal company investigations within Employee Relations or Human Resources
  • or combination of related experience; Employment Law experience preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience

Professional Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources concepts, practices, programs, and methodologies
  • Understands company Human Resources policies, practices, and expectations
  • Understands and able to apply parameters of labor issues including FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and Leaves of Absence
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local Human Resources regulations and how these affect and are applied within WFM
  • Utilize excellent written and oral communication skills to deliver and draft accurate, timely, and effective Investigation Summary Reports
  • Working knowledge of HRMS systems and programs
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Kronos, Workday, and other HRIS
  • Remain respectful and diplomatic in the face of difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation
  • Makes sound decisions based on available information
  • Gathers, consolidates, and objectively processes information
  • Demonstrates good knowledge of statistics, research methods, measurement concepts, and metrics
  • Possesses clear understanding of business objectives of WFM
  • Understands the WFM product mix, supply base, and retail operations
  • Works effectively with others, in groups, in cross-functional settings, and with diverse stakeholders internally and externally
  • Displays strong levels of customer service
  • Ability to easily develop trust and rapport and influence partners and business leaders

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Must be located in the San Francisco area and travel up to 30% to multi-state regions
  • Ability to physically perform general office requirements
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to travel as required in support of multiple location coverage.
