JOB SUMMARY:
This position supports a variety of Human Resources activities to ensure HR services meet the business needs of the organization including employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and areas of talent acquisition and employee engagement. This position requires team participation and interaction with all levels of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Day-to-Day oversight of HR activities at VRC Milwaukee manufacturing facilities including, but not limited to, recruiting, performance management, benefits, employee relations, and legal compliance.
- Source and screen candidates for hourly manufacturing and office positions, owning the candidate experience by designing and managing job postings and maintaining clear and open lines of communication with candidates.
- Develops partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
- Assist with training, coaching and guiding Supervisors and Manager's with employee performance issues.
- Facilitate and manage attendance and other disciplinary process, performance improvement plans (PIP), and terminations.
- Conduct stay and exit interviews as needed.
- Develop, maintain, and adjust with HR team, employee on-boarding program that foster's positive attitude toward company goals and understanding of our vision and values.
- Coach supervisors of company policies and applicable laws in relation to the employer/employee relationship.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Respond timely to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
- Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required or requested.
Job Skills Requirements
- Strong computer skills required (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Problem Solving; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully, develops alternate solutions. Works well in group problem solving situations. Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Solid working knowledge of HRIS systems and Applicant Tracking Systems

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related program; and prefer at least one year related HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position is primarily an office-based position with regular visits to the plant floor, vendors, and other partners. The employee occasionally performs work-related travel outside of state.
