Description

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Generalist supports the organization through work in several areas of Human Resources including recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, Employee Handbook policies, employment practices and compliance, compensation, benefits, employee recognition programs, risk management, employee records, and the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organizational & Departmental Requirements
    • Follow policies, procedures, and rules of the organization.
    • Serve as a role model and demonstrate, encourage, and offer direction in fairness, consistency, attentiveness, ability to work with others, appropriate dress and appearance, and effective conflict resolution.
    • Treat all clients, parents, guardians, co-workers, supervisors, and people in the community with respect and dignity.
    • Maintain the confidentiality of those we serve.
    • Advocate for client rights.
    • Assist with or complete HR Projects and initiatives
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO
  • Talent Acquisition & Retention
    • Screen, schedule, and interview candidates
    • Manage the Applicant Tracking System
    • Post and advertise Jobs through various online and physical methods.
    • Communicate with applicants, candidates, employee referrals, interviewers, Hiring Managers in a timely and effective manner throughout the application process.
    • Investigate and implement methods/ processes to increase the number of qualified new employees
    • Attend Recruitment job fairs
    • Onboard New Hires.
    • Assist with employee recognition programs.
  • Training & Development
    • Plan, coordinate, prepare and facilitate orientation, training courses, and sessions for new hires and existing employees per company policy, regulatory, and Medicaid Wavier standards.
    • Personally conduct training courses and train, as needed.
    • Obtain and organize training content, materials, manuals, and guides.
    • Devise new ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of company training and development programs.
    • Develop training courses and accompanying coursework
  • Compensation and benefits administration
    • Assist with Open Enrollment
    • Assist with the administration of employee benefit programs
  • Employee Relations:
    • Serve as the point of contact for employee counseling and questions related to the implementation of policy and procedure.
    • Facilitate general employee and manager counselings, employee relations issues, andterminations, with assistance from Outsourced HR Director.
    • Process and manage all workers compensation claims
    • Respond to and manage all unemployment compensation claims
    • Ensure Florida minimum wage posters are posted annually and Labor Law posters are posted andupdated
    • Prepare, file, and post OSHA 300 logs as required.
    • Assist with maintenance of personnel files including rosters, performance reviews, promotions,transfers, corrective actions, and terminations
    • Implement applicable statutes, regulations & rulings relating to employment practices asdirected by Outsourced HR Director.
    • Assist with payroll, as needed
    • Other duties as assigned
  • Performance Management
    • Assist with ensuring managers complete performance reviews on time
    • Assist in any leadership development programs and initiatives
  • Compliance and Regulatory
    • Assist in the administration of leave compliance, including FMLA, non-FMLA medical, and personal leaves of absence.
    • Assist in Verifying and record employee medical documentation.
    • Assist with ensuring that personnel policies & Employee handbooks are updated and communicated to all employees.
    • Assist with maintaining and updating job descriptions for all organization positions.
    • Assist with maintaining position grades and ranges.
    • Remain abreast of governmental statutes, regulations & rulings relating to employment.
    • Assist with maintenance of personnel files including rosters, performance reviews, promotions, transfers, corrective actions, and terminations.
    • Ensure compliance with I-Budget Handbook and 65g rules and requirements as they pertain to position duties and training requirements.
  • General
    • Administer the organization's computerized human resources information system (HRIS).
    • Generate and provide reports from HRIS system as needed and required.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field with coursework in Human Resources. Related work experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Two years of experience in the Administrative and/or Human Resources field, preferably with a non-profit organization.
  • Has a stable and continuous work history without unexplainable gaps in employment.
  • Employment History shows a progressive increase in duties and responsibilities.

  • Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as copy machine, fax machine, etc.
  • Ability to be flexible in duties.
  • Must be able to report to work consistently and on time.
  • Must be able to manage a continuously heavy workload that fluctuates and changes frequently.
