We are seeking an experienced and strategic HR Director, Strategy, Planning, & Compensation to join our dynamic team. As the HR Director, you will play a crucial role in providing business input and implementing our organization's People’s initiatives, including executing our compensation strategies & policies. Your expertise will directly contribute to attracting, retaining, and motivating top-tier talent while ensuring the alignment and simplification of compensation practices with our company's overall goals and values.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Human Resource Strategic Projects
- Support and lead a wide range of strategic People projects, as well as support overall HR transformation.
- Partner with Analytics Lead on review of current global workforce and assist with identification of targeted action plans related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
- Partner with VP, HR on improving our Talent Development & Talent Acquisition processes and reporting.
- Provide ongoing leadership for analysis, action planning, best practice sharing, and governance of action plans related to employee surveys at all levels of the business.
Compensation Strategy Development
- Collaborate with HR, VP to create and implement a comprehensive compensation strategy that aligns with the organization's strategic objectives and develops a competitive advantage in attracting and retaining talent.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure our compensation packages remain competitive, in partnership with Global Compensation team; making recommendations to address gaps and ensure internal equity; taking lead on participation in compensation surveys across Emerson.
- Collaborate with HR teams across Emerson to review variable pay programs, including Sales Incentive structures.
Compensation Planning and Execution
- Lead the annual compensation planning process across multiple business units in coordination with World Area and HR Leaders; recommend cost structure changes and identify special budgets as required.
- Take a lead role in simplification and optimization of compensation review process, in partnership with Global & Regional Reward Leads.
- Evaluate job roles and responsibilities to establish fair and consistent salary bands and pay ranges to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness; review current salary structure / grading to ensure consistency and accuracy; partner with leaders on development and implementation of Career Ladders.
- Review and approve salary offers, promotions, and adjustments to ensure they are in line with established guidelines/principles and market standards.
- Review implementation of regional policies such as recognition awards and company car policy.
- Preparation and management of international expatriate assignments, including cost estimates, compensation proposals, assignment letters.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources including compensation planning and administration.
- Experience working in global roles and matrix organizations.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- 3 years’ experience in a Human Resources leadership role.
- Human Resource experience in Talent Development, Talent Acquisition.
- Demonstrated experience in culture & change management, including HR transformation program.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and market trends to inform decision-making (including strong MS Excel skills).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- SHRM-SCP, CCP, or other relevant HR certifications are a plus.
