OUR STORY
- THE CHICAGO CUBS FRANCHISE is a charter member of Major League Baseball's National League. Since 1876, the team has won the National League pennant 17 times and was the first team to win back-to-back World Series titles in the 1907 and 1908 seasons. In 2016, the Chicago Cubs made history again when the team won its first World Series in 108 years, ending the longest championship drought in North American sports. Known for its ivy-covered outfield walls, hand-operated scoreboard and famous Marquee sign, iconic Wrigley Field has been the home of the Chicago Cubs since 1914, making it the second oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball.
HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:
The HR Coordinator will be responsible for providing tactical & transactional human resources support flexing across various HR functions. This role is accountable to ensure operational excellence in the execution of all HR processes and in compliance with all applicable plans, contracts, laws and regulations.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
- Responsible for timely onboarding experience for all associates, coordinating with all departments (IT, Payroll, HR Operations, Communications) to ensure all onboarding activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain an efficient flow of information between HR Operations and Business + Baseball Operations; work with Payroll and HR Operations to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner
- Work with the business and HR team to identify and implement HR process improvements
- Support the coordination & execution of all ongoing orientation elements for first year associates including but not limited to: technology package deployment, workstation set-up, internal & external announcements, maintaining cubs.com front office active directory, front office tour, ballpark tour, network tour, quarterly welcome events
- Assist with the coordination and scheduling logistics of on-site & virtual interviews including candidate travel if necessary
- Execute general HR administrative tasks and maintenance functions for the HR department. Including but not limited to responding to associate inquiries within the HR Ops. & Talent Acquisition email inboxes, file/document creation and maintenance, job description maintenance, seasonal referral bonus program payouts, HRIS data entry & on-demand special project support
- Support new seasonal, Business and Baseball Operations associates through involvement with virtual & in-person pre-boarding, onboarding, orientation, and completing all required documentation
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Bachelors' Degree in Human Resources, Business or other related area
- 2 years experience in Human Resources
- Demonstrated experience effectively managing wide range of human resources matters
- Practical, results-oriented and solutions focused approach
- Strong business acumen
- Highly collaborative, able to build strong relationships across the organization
- Demonstrated track record of completing assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Prior experience successfully working in a fast paced high-volume work environment
- Strong time management skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work non-standard hours
