Job description

The HR Business Partner is dedicated to supporting internal clients by developing effective working relationships, understanding the business, improving the workforce and workplace, and delivering exceptional service. This position will sit in the Cleveland office, and a hybrid schedule possible after training and business acclimation.

 

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  • Acts as the point of the contact for the employees and managers in the designated office locations.
  • Proactively supports HR processes with the internal clients.
  • Manages HR projects cross-functionally, such as annual performance evaluations.
  • Builds a strong business relationship with the internal clients.
  • Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements necessary changes to improve the business.
  • Coaches the management team to bring best solutions for employees.
  • Acts as the performance improvement driver and provokes positive changes in the people management.
  • Works with management team to develop Individual Development Plans.
  • Challenges the organizational structure of the internal clients and proposes changes.
  • Coordinates department changes and works with the management team to source, identify, and select talent.
  • Assists with creating and facilitating leadership development programs and coaches supervisors/managers.
  • Educates supervisors/managers on applicable employment laws to ensure compliance.
  • Works with department management to resolve employee conduct and performance issues, including counseling, documentation, and termination.
  • Assists supervisors/managers in developing employee recognition and motivation programs for their staff.
  • Conducts exit interviews, identifies trends, and recommends strategies to increase staff retention, employee engagement and reduce turnover.
  • Leads planning initiatives and coordinates employee welfare events and other employee-related programs.
  • Keeps abreast of current government regulations to ensure Firm compliance.
  • Works with Benefits Specialist on leave of absence and FMLA procedures.
  • Assists with creation and administration of department specific and/or Firm-wide surveys.
  • Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.
  • Additional duties as requested or required.

 

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology or related field required.
  • 4 years of experience as an HR Generalist.
  •  Ability to communicate with employees at all levels in an effective, tactful and courteous manner.
  •  Ability to maintain and safeguard confidential information and provide a positive image for the company in all situations.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, office environment.
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently with an understanding of when to escalate issues.
  • Skill in researching complex issues and conflict resolution; ability to interpret and apply policies, rules, or regulations; analyze personnel problems and recommend solutions.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is desired, but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft’s Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to build partnerships and influence key resources within the Firm.
  • Ability to travel to other offices, as required.

 

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Starting salary from $60,840 and up depending upon experience level and eligible for First Year Retention Bonus of $2,000
